Headshots

I had some fun with lights last weekend as I shot my friends for headshots/modeling shots. it was my first time using lights on my own and I had a really good time. Natural light has always been my preference but that was because I didn't have anything else! I loved using them and it will be something I will save up for. For these photos I only used one strobe.

Updated Version

Lately I have been learning about lights and backgrounds, and I am having so much fun.  I made a small studio in my garage and set up a somewhat risque shoot with my friend.  We had so much fun doing it and it turned out to be a cool shot, definitely one of my favorites.  Thanks to Dustin Snipes, and his magical work on CS3, he was able to make these awesome photo even better.  Thanks Dustin!

Kitty

There's not much to say about this photo, it's not going in the portfolio... I just love my kitty!  She looked really pretty in the light and she hated me for making her model for me, but I like this shot.

Simi Valley Fire

After driving around for THREE hours trying to get to the fire, I gave up because there was absolutely no way of getting close enough to the action... unless of course I had a helicopter, which I don't. I managed to capture this very simple yet beautiful picture... nothing fascinating but I thought my friends and family would appreciate the effort.

Santa Anita Horse Racing

Today was a great day at the Santa Anita Race Tracks. Jake and I loaded up the gear, or he did, and learned about the Nikon D3 and two crazy lenses (200mm and 400mm). I had approximately $10,000 resting in my hands, worth more than my car, needless to say I spent most of my time worrying about dropping it rather than shooting with it. It was a great experience and I got a few shots that I liked.

Had to throw in a panorama...

US Open of Surfing

Down in Huntington Beach, CA, the US OPen of Surfing crowded the beach once again. There was barely any room to stand let alone sit. Even though the people pissed me off with their shoving and pushing, it wasn't enough to ruin my awesome day of shooting. I didn't get the photos I was hoping for... but these are the ones I liked out of the bunch.

Toney vs. Rahman

James Toney comes back in an effort to win the heavy-weight champion belt once again. The fight took place on July 16, 2008 at the Pechanga Resort in Temecula, CA. During the third round, James Toney accidentally head-butted Hasim Rahman and Rahman called off the fight due to his inability to see.

James Toney Weigh-In

Heavyweight champion James Toney at his weigh-in for his fight tomorrow (pictures coming soon). It was so much fun being a part of his crew and being around an amazing group of family and friends. There's no better entourage.

Funky Fresh Photoshoot

These are a couple photos from today's photoshoot with Jazzy.  A lot of fashion photos are using funky hairstyles for their models, including afros.  So I did my best to make her look gorgeous and funky at the same time.

Mother's Day

I was taking some pictures for my friends' mom (with mother's day around the corner) and I found these to be pretty artsy. Enjoy.

Toyota International and Sprint Triathlon

My stepdad recently participated in his first triathlon and my boyfriend Jake and I were lucky enough to drive up to Palm Springs and shoot it. Some of the stories I heard from the participants were extremely inspirational and really encouraged me to start doing more for other people. Here are some photos from the event.

UCLA Baseball

Jake and I had a lot of fun at the UCLA baseball game. We stuffed ourselves with hot dogs, pizza, gross popcorn and sodas and still had time to get some cool shots. I don't have an amazing lens, but it does what I need it to do... Here are some pictures I thought were OK. Enjoy.

UCLA Gymnastics

UCLA Gymnastics...not easy to shoot. I tagged along with my boyfriend Jake to be his support and I ended up using his old camera so that I wouldn't be bored! They are unorganized...I'm still learning how to use this website, enjoy.

The two opposing teams congratulating each other on their victorious competition.

Some Older Stuff...

I found these photos on my mom's old computer, and I completely forgot all about them. They are a mix of Downtown Los Angeles, Big Bear Mountain and some random shots I liked.
