New Camera

Hey everyone! Sorry it took so long to have a new blog, I sold my camera three months ago and just bought a new one. I bought the Nikon d90 and it's AMAZING! It was well worth the wait. The day after I bought it I went out immediately to do a fun shoot with my friend Lilli, nothing serious. We got some cool shots and it was a lot of fun using my new camera. Enjoy!!!

Headshots

I had some fun with lights last weekend as I shot my friends for headshots/modeling shots. it was my first time using lights on my own and I had a really good time. Natural light has always been my preference but that was because I didn't have anything else! I loved using them and it will be something I will save up for. For these photos I only used one strobe.

Updated Version

Lately I have been learning about lights and backgrounds, and I am having so much fun.  I made a small studio in my garage and set up a somewhat risque shoot with my friend.  We had so much fun doing it and it turned out to be a cool shot, definitely one of my favorites.  Thanks to Dustin Snipes, and his magical work on CS3, he was able to make these awesome photo even better.  Thanks Dustin!

Kitty

There's not much to say about this photo, it's not going in the portfolio... I just love my kitty!  She looked really pretty in the light and she hated me for making her model for me, but I like this shot.

Simi Valley Fire

After driving around for THREE hours trying to get to the fire, I gave up because there was absolutely no way of getting close enough to the action... unless of course I had a helicopter, which I don't. I managed to capture this very simple yet beautiful picture... nothing fascinating but I thought my friends and family would appreciate the effort.

Santa Anita Horse Racing

Today was a great day at the Santa Anita Race Tracks. Jake and I loaded up the gear, or he did, and learned about the Nikon D3 and two crazy lenses (200mm and 400mm). I had approximately $10,000 resting in my hands, worth more than my car, needless to say I spent most of my time worrying about dropping it rather than shooting with it. It was a great experience and I got a few shots that I liked.

Had to throw in a panorama...

US Open of Surfing

Down in Huntington Beach, CA, the US OPen of Surfing crowded the beach once again. There was barely any room to stand let alone sit. Even though the people pissed me off with their shoving and pushing, it wasn't enough to ruin my awesome day of shooting. I didn't get the photos I was hoping for... but these are the ones I liked out of the bunch.
